Welcome
The Trestle Greenhouse is a family business, owned and operated by Marlin and Eleanor Beever in Rivers, Manitoba. The business opened in 2005 on a small scale with Eleanor retailing some plants from the property located at 325 1st Avenue in Rivers. The business has continued to grow with the addition of two greenhouses in Rivers and the addition in the fall of 2010 of a 100 foot greenhouse on the farm property south of Rivers.

The greenhouse is named after the CNR trestle that is located at Rivers on the CNR mainline. The trestle and rail line runs through the family farm property and has been part of our family history. Grandfather Sam Beever immigrated to Canada in 1905 and moved to the farm in 1908. The trestle was built in 1908 and in its day was nearly a mile in length. The trestle has undergone many changes to its present day steel structure that crosses the Little Saskatchewan River.

The greenhouse continues to expand and offers its customers a selection of bedding plants, vegetables, perennials, and herbs as well as trees, shrubs and fruit trees.

The greenhouse is endeavouring to reduce its carbon footprint and is now growing in CowPots* a 100% biodegradeable growing container.

The business also offers a line of wood pellet fired BBQ's and smokers that enhance the bbqing experience.

The building also houses Carreg Clay Studio. Eleanor offers clay classes in the fall and winter months as well as one of a kind pottery pieces for sale.
